Hydraulic Technician

Since 1978, S.E.R. Hydraulics Ltd has been a local leader specializing in custom fluid power engineered solutions, distribution, service, and equipment.
We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Hydraulic Technician to join our team in Lively, ON.
Candidate Profile
Preference will be given to candidates who possess some or all of the following qualifications:
- 2-5 years experience in a shop setting in the hydraulic or industrial industry
- General fluid power product/system knowledge
- Millwright or heavy-duty mechanic training an asset
- Proven system troubleshooting
- Proven ability in overhaul/reconditioning/performance testing of hydraulic components
- Technical and mechanical ability with proficiency in use of all hand tools, machinery, diagnostic and performance testing equipment
- Organized and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate knowledgeably and professionally with clients, suppliers, and internal personnel
- Versatility and willingness to learn new methods
- High attention to details and accuracy
- Customer service oriented
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspection, rebuild, and testing of hydraulic pumps, swing motors, control valves, final drives, travel motors, and other major components for heavy equipment
- Failure analysis and condition reporting
- System troubleshooting
- Follow shop drawings, written instruction, and direction from the shop foreman to assemble HPUs and other equipment
- Complete work and test reports according to procedures
- Honing and lapping of critical parts
- Off-site hydraulic tubing installation
- Make recommendations for product/system improvements
- Perform repair services to the highest trade standards
- Ensure adherence to quoted and specified scope of work, component supply, and
customer requirements
